This sharpener is based on the popular new sharpening system by Wood Artistry - Lap-Sharp. The Lap-Sharp Industrial is a precision sharpener that will provide a quick, easy, solution for keeping planer/moulder knives in premium condition. This version of the Lap-Sharp is outfitted with abrasives for serious sharpening tasks, such as sharpening high-speed steel planer knives and bringing carbide inserts back to a sharp condition. Abrasives are easily changed for the task at hand.
With the included planer knife sharpening jig, this rugged sharpener can keep your tooling sharp with minimum effort. Precision is built into the system, and ease of use is also a priority for this design. With the jig, you can sharpen up to 24" standard planer knives, or two 12" knives together for maximum precision for the pair.
A ruggedly built base of cast aluminum, with a motor designed for this heavy duty task, makes this a lifetime addition to your shop. Built for precision sharpening, the table is extremely flat, with exchangeable aluminum disks that are tested for their conformity to extreme standards of production. Matched with new abrasives designed for aggressive cutting, this sharpening system will take your tooling to a new level of sharpness. By increasing the fineness of the abrasives, you can go beyond the factory edge you are currently working with, to a new quality of edge that no other sharpener can match.
For moulding knives, you can bring them back to sharpness in a few seconds on the Lap-Sharp. This is great for removing sap and putting the edge back on these knives to lengthen their tooling life in your machines.
